Grapeseed oil

Grapeseed oil is another carrier oil that is used a lot in aromatherapy. It is fine, light, non greasy, as well as fast absorbing. It is hypo-allergenic and baby-friendly. As the name implies, this oil comes from the grape seed. It works very well for skin that does not absorb other oils very quickly. This oil is not only anti-inflammatory, but also antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. This oil is a good choice for any aromatherapy blend. It does have a short shelf life – only 3-4 months, so if you purchase this one, be sure to use it quickly.

Following are some reasons to use grapeseed oil:

to moisturize skin, to soften and gives the skin the ability to bounce back,

heal acne by attacking the bacteria deep in your pores,

lighten skin and helps protect your skin for absorbing the full damage of UV rays,

tighten pores,

reduce the appearance of scars,

remove makeup

Although this carrier oil penetrates your skin quickly, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily. To use this oil on your face, massage several drops into clean skin before you go to bed at night. You can repeat the process in the morning, if desired. When using on the face, add a drop or two of frankincense, rose or myrrh essential oil. This will help eliminate any fine lines or wrinkles. It is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and contains antioxidant properties. With high amounts of Omega chain fatty acids and Vitamin E, this oil has become a popular topical treatment for skin. Since grapeseed oil doesn’t clog pores, it’s ideal for all skin types, including oily skin that needs moisturizing. This oil may be unsafe for those with any type of blood condition, those about to have surgery, or those people taking blood thinners.
