The Pendulum – An Introduction
A pendulum has been in use as a divination and dowsing tool for as long as 8,000 years. A pendulum combines a simple appearance with a mystical function. By responding to your body’s own energetic field in conjunction with your higher self and intuition, it provokes jerk reflexes in your arm and wrist that allow the pendulum to move in a certain direction to answer your questions.
The muscles in your arm move by subconscious activity in your brain. So by asking your question, your energy field is responding to what your inner self already knows subconsciously. However, consciously you are unaware because you are so conditioned to closing off intuition and instead of listening to your rational mind. The idea that the pendulum swings as an extension of spirit has its fair share of skeptics.
Pendulums are simple to operate and anyone can use them. They are beautiful and mystical, and they draw people in who are curious about how they work. You don’t need any special qualifications to use a pendulum. People from all walks of life can pick up the practice. A pendulum is small, as well as compact and affordable. You can be use it anywhere.
There are so many different types of pendulums out there, and it can be a little overwhelming to choose one. There are different shapes, crystals, metals, string options, lengths, added embellishments, and more – and all with different meanings and added energy properties. At the end of the day, you need to choose one that you resonate with. Try not to choose a pendulum just because you think it is pretty. You must resonate with it, or it will do you no good.
