Lemon Oil

Lemon essential oil, Citrus limon, is another one of those “must have” essential oils. It works well for the immune, respiratory and digestive systems. It promotes health, healing, physical energy as well as purification, and has an invigorating fragrance. Lemon cleanses the lymphatic system and sanitizes hands and surfaces. It can help soothe heartburn, and can help stop a runny nose.  This oil is an anti-depressant, antiseptic, antifungal, antioxidant, antiviral, astringent, refreshing and invigorating oil.   As with all citrus oils, when applying directly to the skin, avoid direct sunlight for up to 12 hours.

Lemon has a sweet, clear, citrusy scent.  The top uses for this oil are energy, stress and sore throat.  The historical uses for lemon are to fight food poisoning,  Sources say that Christopher Columbus carried lemon seeds to America – probably just the leftovers from the fruit that was eaten on the trip.

You can apply this oil neat, with no dilution, directly to the skin.  Either diffuse the oil, or simply inhale directly from the bottle.  It is also a great household cleanser.  Simply mix a few drops with water in a spray bottle and use on countertops, windows and appliances,
