Peppermint Oil

Peppermint, or Mentha piperita, is an oil that may promote healthy respiratory function and clear breathing.  It is 100% pure organic oil.  You will probably recognize the flavor from chewing gum or toothpaste.  It is very uplifting and cooling, with a sharp and minty scent.  It’s great for hot flashes or staying awake on that long drive.  Restaurants often give out peppermint candies after your meal to help ease any digestive discomfort.    Since this is a safe oil, you may apply it directly to the skin, without dilution.

Peppermint essential oil has been used to freshen breath, to relieve gas, indigestion and headaches. It is a very popular flavoring in candy, as well as toothpaste and mouthwash, and other food items.

Keep this oil handy if you are making a long drive to help with alertness. Add a few drops of oil to a spritzer bottle of water and spray on your body on hot days. You can also spray it around windows and doors to keep the spiders and other crawly critters out.

The top uses of this essential oil include headache, allergies, cooling, nausea and congestion, as well as alertness and endurance.
